Our expertise is in understanding managing and communicating with people –
and our work reflects this specialised ability. We operate
in three main areas:
1. Management
Our management consulting work covers these activities and
tasks:
Total project management – clients come to us to solve
a problem – and usually with a lack of time and resources
to do it. We clarify a clients needs, confirm the project
brief and design the project process with accountability
measures built in. We carry out the project if needed.
Project reviews and evaluation – a key element of project
management is to ensure continued relevance of the project
process to meet client or target audience needs. This may
require performance measures or revision of the project process – especially
as the terms of reference or target audiences may have changed.
An independent evaluation may be needed for accountability
or funding reasons.
Business planning – total project management processes
benefit from the development of a road map to show how to
achieve project or program goals. The road map is a convenient
way of planning and showing how to develop a solution to
a problem and how to make the solution happen in minimum
time and with minimum costs.
2. Feedback, developing organizational
capacity and community development
Our work with a range of rural, community and business groups
gives us an excellent insight into the needs of these groups;
Market research – we have established a series of
non-intrusive methods of collecting data for clients – and
evaluating the effectiveness of existing communication strategies.
Community consultation – our understanding of people
issues means we know how to connect with key target groups – in
a business or a wider community - and their motivations on
key issues. Therefore we can seek community of interest feedback
from these groups using collaborative processes.
Emotional release counselling – peoples reactions can
be based on emotional rather than objective thinking. Knowledge
about emotional release counselling facilitates an understanding
of the forces at work in people’s reactions.
Careers change – in today’s climate of rapid
change, people are constantly looking for new opportunities.
One of our associates has skills in career management.
3. Training
Our work over the past 20 years with diverse groups means
that we have a technical knowledge of key areas of business,
industry and government – and an understanding of how
to meet key industry and people development needs where we
can draw on our own expertise and the expertise of our associates.
SE Asia – we draw on our Australian
knowledge and Asian contacts when commissioned to set up training
programs for key industries for increased capacity. We are
working in Vietnam and have worked in the Philippines.
Management training – our knowledge
of project management, our interpersonal communication skills
and our business experience equip us to establish key training
programs for business and industry. While we understand the
VET sector training needs, our focus is on training for professional
development.
Festivals, events and tourism professional development
– a key challenge in this sector is to maintain and
increase skill levels. We have conducted training, training
needs analysis, reviews and professional development in this
sector.
